On a foggy morning, Driffield made the long trek to Skegness. Previously losing to them with a close-shave of 3-2 at home. From the off, Alford made a quick break and secured the first goal within seconds of the whistle blowing. But this early goal did not put the girls down. Driffield came back with vengeance, working as a unit the langtoft lass received the ball in the D giving it a reverse flick into the goal- which gave us the motivation to press on. With a great defence of Edmond, Williams, Drewery, Moore and Smith we stood strong, the Alfords were unable to get through. With great linkage play within Midfield consisting of Brightling, Gillingham, Atkinson and Collinge forced the ball forward. A short corner was awarded and Brightling, with all her might, smacked it in towards goal for Zoe to poke in. With a spring in our step, we wanted more! Gillingham dribbled the ball up the wing, slotting the ball across to Atkinson who swept it in. The whistle was blown, and it was 3-1 at half time.
Vice Moore and Williams delivered a fantastic team talk whilst being sufficed by the finest oranges.
For the second half, Driffield were raring to go. With lovely triangular passes between the forwards Riby, Howe and Walker-Rouse, Collinge passed to Howe on the post and we secured another goal. This post work continued for the rest of the game, obtaining 3 more goals, which solidified our win.
With a well deserved result of 7-1
