On a completely different day to last Saturday Driffield took on local rivals York 2’s at home.
For the majority of the game Driffield were in control but goals were hard to convert. A missed penalty stroke and numerous short corners meant that Driffield were frustrated but eventually Kate Morgan forced the ball over the line from a scramble in front of goal and soon after Emma Speake added to it with the help of a deflection off a York foot.
Second half continued in the same vein but York grabbed one back after a defenders error. However the 2-0 difference was quickly restored when a great strike from Charlotte Braidwood-Smith shortly before the final whistle ensured Driffield remain unbeaten and second in the league.
Girlie of the game went to Eve Naylor and donkey to Henri Williams fo taking an unexpected pre-match shower.
