On Sat the ladies travelled to Huddersfield one way or the other and they all got there about on time!
As against Rotherham the ladies had all the play in the first half gaining many short corners but unfortunately the Dragons defence was exceptional and their keeper was having the game of her life, Driffield even had a flick given as a Huddersfield player stopped the ball on the line with her body, but again the keeper made a fantastic save. Half time score 0-0.
In the second half the same thing happened with Driffield in full control but on a rare venture into Driffield’s half Huddersfield some how managed to scored a goal. Driffield kept their heads and pushed on, Girlie of the Game Kiera Dinsdale-Young produced a great run into the D getting past two defenders to give a nice simple pass to Bryony Skyes who was waiting on the post to slot it in, 1-1.
The game carried on in the same fashion with Driffield playing some good hockey. In the dying minutes though Huddersfield had a breakthrough and we’re award a there one and only short corner of the game and the umpire blow his whistle for full time! But the corner has to be played out. Obviously this was a very nervous time but luckily the Driffield defence did well and the final score stood at 1-1.
