This was the last game for the ladies before Christmas, so Captain Tuplin wanted them to end the first half of the season with a clean sheet of wins! Could the girlies produce another win?
York came out strong with something to prove after their last encounter against Driffield. Unfortunately for them it was Driffield who took hold of the game, with swift passing, which over the weeks has become much slicker allowing the forwards to display their magic. The first goal came when Charlotte B-Smith disguised her shot across the D to find Bry Holtby near the post, who had fab reactions to scored a great touch goal.
Next stepped up Horsley always on the prowl like a panther. Eager Beaver Tuplin released a ball into the D after seeing the prowler on the run, she took an awesome touch to slip it past the stranded keeper, goal no. 2. York kept trying to push forward but many of their runs were squash by Ash Oliver, Em Brightly, Vic Beaver-Scott, Andrianna Drury and Kate Moore. Unfortunately on a break York managed to get a short corner & scored from it, 2-1. This only fired the ladies, Horsley got her second goal and Bron Walker-Rouse who wanted to get in on the scoring spree, got her 1st. The ladies went into the half time break looking festively happy at 4-1. Nothing to be said really apart from just keep doing what we are doing ladies, came from captain Tuplin, go girls!
