On Saturday Driffield ladies 1s travelled to play Slazengers Ladies 1st team in Wakefield.
Driffield started strong earning a short corner within the first 3 minutes, which Bella Byass converted with a lovely drag flick into the Slazengers goal.
Driffield continued to attack resulting in another short corner on the 20 minute mark. This time it was Hannah Horsley’s turn to strike, resulting with an absolute bullet hitting the back board hard for goal no. 2!
Five minutes later Hannah scored her second goal of the game with a great strike from the edge of the D.
Driffield didn’t have it all their own way, with the defence and keeper, holding Slazengers at bay. However, Slazengers were award a short corner with 5 minutes of the first half to play, which they converted.
Going into the half time Driffield were leading 3-1.
In the second half Driffield attacked and earned another short corner, Bella Byass produced another lovely drag flick into the goal.
Slazengers had plenty of attacking chances which Driffield kept them out until 10 minutes to go, when they scored a goal from open play.
As play continued Driffield keepers alto ego Kat Slater made a brief appearance for the first time this year, after a questionable umpiring decision!
With 2 minutes left to go, Slazengers were awarded another short corner, which they scored from.
Driffield held on and won the game 4-3.
Girlie was Kat Young for some great saves.
Donkey was Bella Byass, a dry Skort would be good to play in.
