Driffield ladies 1s travelled all the way to Whitley Bay for the final game of the season! The ladies, though with a depleted side, were full of energy ready to finish off the season with a win.

From the start Driffield attacked forward with drive and determination eager for a goal.
After plenty of battling and near misses, the first goal came from attacker bry holtby with some lovely skills bry received the ball rolled out and slotted it in the left hand corner, giving Driffield the lead.

Not long after Rebecca Lindsay received the ball in the right hand corner and drove the baseline, slotting the ball to Rosie dale patiently waiting on the penalty spot, tapping it in the bring the score line to 2-0.

Just before half time Driffield were awarded a short corner, Vikki B stepped up the take it, striking from the top D, with an impressive save from the keeper it was rebounded back where Vikki struck again this time hammering it against the back board. The half time whistle blew with Driffield 3-0 up.

Driffield came out after half time ready for more. Whitley bay also came back strong but with the solid defending and excellent distribution from the back line of Ash, Holly, Vikki B, Vicky S and Sibelle no goals were conceded.

The final goal came from play at the top of the D. Captain Charlotte layed the ball off to Keira Dinsdale-Young, who sent a ball in to the penalty spot for Louisa Chacksfield to tap in, scoring on her debut for the Ladies 1s.

This win meant the Driffield Ladies 1s finish the season 2nd in the league, above rivals Wakefield. Another very successful season for the Ladies!
