Driffield ladies 1st XI are back to winning ways with a 7-0 win against Sheffield University Bankers on Saturday, a team to whom they suffered a disappointing 1-0 loss in the first half of the season. From the start, the ball was passed quickly and effectively around the pitch, which lead to several textbook team goals. Clinical short corners also helped put the game past Hallam. It didn’t all go Driffield way, but with excellent defence when needed, things look positive for the second half of the season and beyond, especially with three juniors (Emily, Lucy and Katie) making strong appearances. Special mention to Keira Dinsdale-Young who bagged a hat-trick and Girlie of the Game. Also to Emily Collinge who, on her 15th birthday, scored on her debut.
