The ladies 1s travelled to Newcastle University for a late afternoon match. Away matches had eluded the ladies 1s so far this season so they were keen to put 3 points on the board!
The half time score was 1-0 to Driffield; then, after many chances and some excellent goal keeping from the uni keeper, Emma Speake snook one past her into the corner of the goal.
The ladies worked the ball up the pitch, through the midfield, and gained a short corner which Charlotte Braidwood-Smith slotted through the keepers legs!
Shortly after, new recruit Rebecca Lindsey chipped one over the keeper!
Some worrying moments followed when the university girls fought back, got a goal and were threatening again, but the defence held strong, and some awesome saves were made by goalie Sibelle.
Coming through this shaky patch the girls stamped their authority on the match once again with 2 goals in quick succession- Emma speake and Rebecca Lindsey making it two a piece to finish full time at 5-1, an excellent win for the ladies 1s!
