Halifax 2 v Driffield 1 in Semi-Final of the Yorkshire Cup

A slightly depleted side travelled to Halifax for this tough fixture, and despite Halifax taking an early lead, Driffield remained calm and started to string some passes together. Emma Speake equalised shortly before half time only for minutes later to be blindsided by a robust Halifax player which left her with a broken nose. Down to a bare 11 players Driffield soldiered on and ended up defending for most of the second half and defend they did well. The final score was 1-1 and onto flicks. But it was not to be, Halifax all took their 5 well and despite all of Driffield’s flicks being well executed, one was saved and the game lost.
