Driffield Ladies 3rds …. 1
Tadcaster magnets W2 …. 0

Driffield ladies team set out for a strange start to the match at Driffield, Tadcaster goalie still on route and ridiculously warm temperatures for an October match.

Driffield ladies worked hard as a team from the first whistle. Issy Mudd, Layla Mcgreal, Isla Hartley and Daisy Howe putting pressure on the team as they played with 11 players outfield for the first 5 minutes with some great runs up the wings.

Once the missing goalie had arrived both teams settled into their game well with lots of good tackles and distribution coming from the midfield players of Jennifer Buckle, Kate Leeson and Gracie Edson to create plenty of chances for the forwards. However it was still a level score of 0-0 at half time.

After a sugar boost and team chat at half time, Driffield come out battling for the win.
Defensively Driffield were playing superb with Harriet Lane, Anna O’Malley, Meg Sellar, Julie Pease and Lexi Watt making some fantastic tackles and passing around the back to create space and time for the upfront and midfield players.

Driffield managed to keep attacking the Tadcaster D and eventually won themselves a well deserved short corner. A push out from Isla to Lexi at the top of the D to make a drag flick which was saved by the keeper and deflected straight to Isla who was in perfect position to receive the rebound and shove the ball over the line to score the winning goal!

Some great runs of the baseline by Daisy Howe and Issy mudd kept pressure on the Tadcaster defence although from a break from the Tadcaster team a Fantastic save was make by keeper Riona Welburn as the ball flew to the top of the net and she got her hand to it to allow the ball to clear the top of the goal by inches- some great save from riona throughout the game to keep the score to 1-0.

Girly went to Isla for her goal and her continuous effort throughout.
Donkey of the Match went to Captain Anna.
