Spear 'headed'

Driffield travelled to Hymers College to play Hull 4's, knowing to opposition would be stronger than the previous week. Driffield started well and Eleanor playing at left mid made some cracking runs up the line passing inside to Clemmie and Immi who sent great balls into the circle that Evie just missed getting on the end of. Vicky, Drew, Laura and Keely combined well on the right hand side but the goal would not come. On 24 minutes Sophie picked up a great ball from Immi, just outside the circle, using her skill she went round the defenders into the circle and fired the ball into the back of the goal. 5 minutes later Evie got on the end of Keely's pass to tip the ball past the keeper. Half time 2-0 Driffield.

Hull started strong after the break and converted a short corner after 3 minutes. This was the wake-up call Driff needed. A hit out from Tash to Drew on the right, who ran the full length of the pitch, made a great cross that Keely converted. Driff were playing some lovely hockey and their confidence high. Wendy took a quick free hit just outside the defending circle, which Phoebe picked up on the half way line. She went round 3 players, into the circle and scored a great goal to make the final score 4-1 to Driffield.

Girlie of the game was a joint effort between Immi and Eleanor. A special mention to our "fabulous" keeper Jenny (Immi's mum).
