L4's Match Report 29/9/18
By Henri Williams
Driffield Ladies 4’s v Hull Ladies 4’s. 11:00 Saturday 29th Sept at Driffield.
From the very start this was a very good natured game with both sides playing to the spirit of good sportsmanship.
Both sides tried very hard to get a goal but they were so well matched that a final score of 0-0 was entirely appropriate.
Driffield defended excellently and “pressed” well, making it very difficult for Hull to take a free hit. The “sea of blue” shirts surrounding the ball was a lovely thing to see.
For Driffield, players of the match were Lottie Hall for her steadiness in defence and speed up the wing when required, getting the ball up and past the oppositions midfield. And Kim Dewhirst for not allowing Hull to move the ball past our 23, and each time, taking it from the opposition and directing it out to our free players.
Layla McGreal, Emily Heald and Laura Jackson made great efforts to get the ball over the line in attack but were thwarted time after time by the Hull Gk.
A lovely game
