Driffield 3s loss 3-1
On Saturday Driffield Ladies 3s took an hour long drive to Tadcaster where they took on Tadcaster Magnets first team. The ladies knew the match was going to be very demanding with Tadcaster coming down from the division above but each and every player put their all into it.
In the 18 degree heat, Heather Measom, Sarah Soanes,Holly Snaith and Captain- Meg sellars ran their hearts out holding possession whilst helping the defence as Tadcaster Magnets attacked strongly. Throughout the game the forwards never stopped attacking leading Lucy Attree to score the opener, with the great help of Julie Pease, Emily Williamson and Wendy Foster running their socks off to break through Tadcasters defence. Driffield thought they had they game but Tadcaster Magnets came back harder scoring 3 goals.
At half time it was 3-1 and Driffield were very thankful for the words of wisdom from Debs Robinson and David Measom. Driffield Ladies went back on the pitch with their heads held high ready to fight back.
During the second half the defence were very strong as Lucy Welburn, Sharon Falkingham and Kat Young didn’t allow Tadcaster to break through. No goals were conceded in the second half with Riona Welburn in goal. Every Driffield player stuck to Tadcaster like glue making sure they had no opportunity to attack, finishing the game with a result of losing 3-1. With Driffield Ladies 3s being newly promoted, they now know what to improve on at training on Thursday night and look forward to their game next Saturday at 11am against Wakefield 4s.
