Saturday saw Driffield men’s 1st XI travel away to Huddersfield for the first match after the Christmas break. Starting the game strongly Driffield passed well out of the back and built attacks which resulted in many entries into the opposing 3rd. These attempts were unsuccessful, until one short corner with a drag flick from S.Falkingham saw Driffield take the lead.
The momentum would stay with Driffield for the majority of the first half until a Huddersfield attack saw them equalise, after a dubious umpiring decision. The score would remain 1-1 at the end of the first half.
Coming into the second half the Woldsmen wished to find the form they had at the start of the match, unfortunately this was not to be as Huddersfield scored two more goals in the second half. Driffield had many attempts throughout the second half, however, non would alter the score line with the game ending in a 3-1 loss.
